Teen Adventure Program

For Teens who have completed 7th - 10th grades.

The Teen Adventure Program is based 1 mile from the Silver Spring Camp, at Hampshire View Baptist Church on Ednor Road.

Teen Adventure is widely known as one of the best teen programs in the area, in fact we have won numerous “Best Teen Camp” awards in the Silver Spring area. We believe that our success is the result of our commitment to excellence in the area of staff, program and activities.

Teen Adventure’s most important asset is the staff. They believe in investing in the lives of teenagers; it’s all about building meaningful relationships. That is why we search the world to hire counselors who are not only committed to Christian values, but who are also trained to relate to teens and help them with the issues they face. We strive to create an environment where teens feel safe emotionally and physically, where they can be themselves, hang out with friends, and have great role models.

Our program is designed to be nonstop, no-let-down, over-the-edge fun. We do activities teens love. Most days we travel to cool locations, but we also offer traditional camp activities once a session.

Trips may include: Beaver Dam laser tag water parks bowling skating State Parks Specialized activities may include: WNBA game talent show mess olympics

Mind-blowing overnighters are our hallmark. We stay in great hotels for all of our overnight trips, and travel in air-conditioned luxury coach buses. We've been doing these types of trips for many years, and have implemented procedures to ensure safe and successful overnighters. The overnighters for Teen Adventure take place on the first Thursday of each session, returning to camp for pick-up on Friday night.

We are excited to offer these four overnight trips this summer:

Session 1: Thursday, June 24 - Friday, June 25 Hershey Park, Pennsylvania Amusement park with a variety of rides, games and a huge water park. Session 2: Thursday, July 8 - Friday, July 9 Rehoboth Beach, Delaware Beach which includes a boardwalk with shopping, arcades and restaurants. We also spend half a day at a nearby water park.
Session 3: Thursday, July 22 - Friday, July 23 Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Pennsylvania NEW for 2010!! Amusement park with a variety of rides, games and a huge water park. Session 4: Thursday, August 5 - Friday, August 6 Ocean City, New Jersey Beach which includes a boardwalk with shopping, arcades and restaurants.

*Please be sure both you and your child sign the conduct agreement in the application, and return it to Camp Sonshine. We require a signed conduct agreement for each child currently in 6th grade or above.
