We're so incredibly excited about our programming for summer 2012. This promises to be one of our best ever summers and we hope you'll join us. We've designed an awesome elective program that lets campers choose activities that are just right for them. We call them Electivities!
Our careful planning allows our campers to customize their Camp Sonshine experience to be perfect for them. Trying new activities... focusing in depth on areas they already crave... making new friends with similar interests- we're giving campers so many ways to enhance their camp experience and truly make the Camp Sonshine experience their own!
As children develop they need additional opportunities to make independent decisions and become more
adventurous. We've built upon the success of our Adventure Camp (3rd-4th grade) Electives program and built
our Electivities across all our programs. Campers will be able to choose multiple periods of activities on multiple
days to make their camp experience their own. Choose your options right during the registration process
(**not including Teen Adventure and Germantown locations). The number of choices and available periods
increases as campers get older and the fun just keeps getting hotter and hotter!!
**Our Teen Adventure and Germantown campers will make their Electivity choices once their camp week actually begins.

| Art Expressions - express yourself in the world of art! Tap into your creativity and imagination with projects such as tie-dye and t-shirt design, jewelry making, duct tape crafts, sculpting and much more. | Culinary Creations - For the budding chefs at heart, we introduce our food activities; for example: fire cooking, pizza decoration, pancake art, cookie making, and fun and creative food competitions. Yum! | Water Works - With summer comes water, and lots of it. This electivity may include water favorites such as pond, canoes, slip 'n slide, super soakers, and tons of water fun! |

Campers get to try new sports, practice their skills and have healthy competition, with sports such as basketball, flag football, soccer, kickball, ultimate frisbee, and other team sports! | Instructables - Making things, destroying things, and seeing what happens to things. Where's Wilder-Waldo? - Wilderness Waldo will be hiding somewhere on the campgrounds. It's a wild race against the clock for you and your team, as you use secret clues and minimal resources to find Waldo. |
| Leadership - We'll make use of fun activities and challenges

skills to lead, inspire
and communicate better with their peers. |
Master of Survival - Campers
will have a hands-on time
learning more advanced skills
needed to survive in the wilderness,

Germantown
Electives are being taken to a whole new level at Germantown! Starting this summer, we will be taking electives
up a notch with our new Electivities for ALL programs! Two days a week, a portion of the day will be spent doing
electivities (days and period lengths are dependent on the program) when your child will have fun getting to
learn and develop skills throughout the week.
Campers will get a quick glance at the electivities of the week each Monday and then make their selections with their counselor.
Discovery and Explorer will have options that will spark imagination and innovation with activities like Art and Beyond and Welcome to the Kitchen. Adventure will get to activate their creativity and adventurous side with Fashion Passion and much more, and High and Teen Adventure will continue to cultivate development in their interests and passions.
Teen Adventure
Our teens are not going to be left out of the Electivity awesomeness at camp this summer. Our teen campers
will get to choose from a host of Electivity options once their camp week begins. Take a look at some of the
electivities that are lined up for our teens:
Archery/ Go- Karts- Archery with a twist, adding blow darts and sling shots and Off Road Go-Karts.
Climbing Wall- Learn to become a rock climber, scaling our 30 ft wall.
High Ropes- Ropes elements that will challenge your will power and strength.
Zip Line- Zip down a chord on a harness from over 20 feet in the air. This is one of the most exhilarating things
to do at camp.
Pond/ Slip n Slide- Enjoy some time getting wet in our pond and splashing on the Slip n Slide.
Sports Mania- play some of your favorite sports like basketball, soccer, football, ultimate Frisbee, and more.
Instructables- Learn to make new things and hone those "crafty person" skills. We will make things like duct
tape wallets; learn to make no-sew messenger bags and much more.
Group Board Games- Take the time to relax inside with your friends playing your favorite games and some new
ones like Bonanza, Settlers of Cataan and others.
Gym & Dodgeball Mania- Reactor, Alamo, Guardian and all the best dodgeball games along with many other
unique gym games.
Mad Science- Conduct crazy experiments and learn about the world we live in.
Live Action Role Playing- Suite up and put on your war paint to have epic battles using foam swords and plastic
shields.
Outdoor Fanatic- Get outside and enjoy nature making fires, learning knot-tying skills, and how to build an
outdoor living structure. Building hammocks, cooking over the fire, or hiking and more are all possibilities.
